那棵树 那个绍兴
这个项目起源2023年的夏天，鲁班超决定从瑞典返回家乡,绍兴。围绕一颗树，重新感知一座城。
一颗死在绍兴郊区的树，记录着围绕那棵树的发生，周围和中心的关系，在一系列行动中体现。鲁班超在思考人与物的关系，定与不定的平衡，试图来解释他自己所处的周围。
This project started during summer 2023,Banchao Lu decided to come back to his hometown SHAOXING. The project is about re-perceiving a place through a tree.
A tree died in the suburbs of Shaoxing. Banchao Lu records the happening around the tree, revealing the relationship between the periphery and the center, which is reflected in a series of actions. Banchao Lu is thinking about the relationship between human being and things, the balance between stability and uncertainty, and trying to explain the surroundings he is involving
THE SHAOXING
Shaoxing, my hometown, has been the place I have been trying to stay away from for a long time. I was raised in shaoxing, my first language is shaoxing dialect instead of mandarin, I received 9-year compulsory education in Shaoxing. The completive education atmosphere has led my entire impression of the city, built between different schools, my home and variety of tutoring institutions, Interspersed with some restaurants and cybercafes in between.
The city was so small indeed, located in eastern coast of China. After the college entrance examination, I couldn’t wait to choose to go to Shanghai for university. After graduating from the my bachelor, I followed the main stream and stayed in Shanghai to work.Later, I flew to Sweden for my master... As graduation approaches, someone asked me if I would consider staying in Sweden. However, it seems that this is the first time that I want to go back towards Shaoxing, just like I wanted to leave shaoxing at the beginning.
那个绍兴
绍兴，我的家乡，很长时间却是我一直在尝试远离的对象，虽然我是土生土长的绍兴人，第一语言是绍兴话，但小城市教育环境的内卷，导致我印象里的绍兴城好像就只存在于不同学校和家以及不同辅导机构之间，附近出现一些饭店以及网吧。
这座城的确很小，我一直生活在越城区的城东，于是高考结束，我便迫不及待地选择去上海上大学，之后本科毕了业，也选择留在上海工作，那之后，又选择飞往了瑞典读研….很奇怪的是，在瑞典研究生毕业的时候, 身边有朋友也来问我是否会想留在瑞典, 但似乎，这是第一次，我想回绍兴, 就像当初想离开绍兴一样。
THE SHAOXING
The day has come to cut down the tree. I want to do something for the tree before the cutting, like what I did in Sweden for my master project, I hug it, pour some hot coffee, and fika together. However, during the summer in Shaoxing is so hot. It's horrible, I don't know why I prepared so many white fabric, for the formality of the sacrifice? when i was wrapping the tree ,my skin rub the dry bark from time to time, which is completely opposite to the icy birch bark in Sweden. It is painful for both the tree and people as well.

终于到了砍树的这一天了，我想为树再做点什么，在他倒下之前，就像我之前在瑞典那样，抱抱他，倒点热咖啡，一起fika，但绍兴的夏天又热又闷，不知道为什么事先要准备这么多白布，为了祭祀的形式感？在树上缠的布的时候, 皮肤时不时地蹭到干涸的树皮，这和瑞典冰溜溜的桦木皮截然相反，那叫一个痛苦，对树，对人都一样。
THE SHAOXING

THE TREE
Shaoxing has developed rapidly in recent years. For instance, It has built the subway to go directly to Hangzhou, and built a round expressway around main city area, which is an effort to make the entire city's transportation much simpler and efficient. The tree located under a certain section of the expressway, part of brand-new asphalt road. In recent years, in order to host international marathon events, on both sides of lots of roads in Shaoxing, full of various landscape hillsides, built by soil artificially, with ups and downs, like golf courses, ironically, heavy trucks transported the soil from different mountains into the city. At the same time, truck businesses accelerated the renovation of asphalt roads. I heard from the leading worker that the tree dead because of the surrounding soil was piled too high, resulting into the shortage of oxygen happening on the bottom roots.
"The tree has been here for a while, we have to deal with it quickly, otherwise if any leader who drives pass by someday, we would be approached again."

绍兴这几年发展很快，地下造地铁，要直通杭州，地上造环城快速路，大家都力图让整个城市的交通逻辑愈发简单高效。这颗树恰好就位于某一段高架路下面，路底下是焕然一新的柏油马路，这些年, 为了承办国际马拉松赛事, 绍兴很多道路两旁都会用土堆出各种景观山坡，仿佛一个个人造高尔夫球场，起起伏伏，甚为壮观, 重型卡车们将山里的土运进了绍兴城，一定程度上也加速了柏油马路的翻新。听带头的工人讲，这颗树恰恰就是因为四周的土坡堆得太高，根部活生生的被蒙死了。
“有一段时间了，得赶紧处理了，不然哪个领导开车路过看到又要挨批了”

“123，123，123…” 我父亲带头喊着典型的绍兴劳工号子，5个人扯着一根绳子正在努力拉倒这颗树，在这之前，树周围的土已经被挖开，根部被斜切了一刀，由于没垫锲子，中途木锯还被卡在了树里，“唉….” 大树顺着拉绳的方向缓慢又突然地倒下，父亲和一众工友们吓得撒绳四处乱窜，马上，他们便在树边，开始庆幸自己的技巧与胆量。

I often wish that I was a mirror formed as a stainless steel cylinder, reflecting surroundings, becoming surroundings, and rooting in surroundings, like, a tree.
