Relative democracy
Form follows spirituality
Stretched but Dignified
A highly generalized comment about Ming chair, according to its form design as well as the design aesthetic, 'stretched' form corresponding the freedom personality of literati who was designer of Ming chair, 'dignified' was meeting the needs from them as officers. ggegenerally, it is supposed to be a chair put in a solemn context.
Self restraint
On the Ming chair, I can see a kind of Chinese-style restraint, just like it is not so comfortable as a chair, there is existing an invisible pressure, whether it is from external or internal, which is a kind of Chinese-style relative democracy, in my Ming chair I want to use materials and craftsmanship to reflect this kind of restraint.

Sustainble design thinking
As a family heirloom, in the design of Ming chair, form follows spirituality rather than function, which requires designer to leave enough space for user’s self-awareness engaging as well as binding related to object form. this requirement did weak the functionality of an object. However, design sacrificed a certain part of functionalities, in order to bind self-awareness with object. Meanwhile, comparing with some characters which contemporary furniture has, like assemblity, fixability, Ming chair has a kind of irreversibility and uniqueness on itself, which let people keep it more longer, it is not a chair for using. but it could be used. However, no one will throw away a Ming chair if it is a Ming chair.
